AA The meeting I attended was in Seattle it was an AA, open meeting, non-smoking and they labeled it as a discussion meeting. It took me a while to find a meeting that was non-smoking; can’t stand the smell of smoke. I didn’t know what to expect from the meeting. I remember going with my mom when I was younger but I don’t remember too much about the actual meeting. This meeting however was sort of a wake up call so to speak. I don’t do any drugs nor do I drink but I was still nervous going into the meeting. When I walked into the meeting room, the room was full of chairs and refreshments such as juice and coffee; they even had some crackers and cookies for the participants. There were a lot of people that just seemed like they were out of it. It actually looked like1/2 of the people needed a drink. I got the impression that some of them seemed to not want to be there. When they started going around the room and introducing themselves and telling complete strangers their problems it really hit me. I meeting, people, going, seemed, one, am, years, room, really, over, nervous, mom, just, guy, family, drink, don’t, about, whole, while, towards, though, things, themselves, smoked, said, remember, quit, probation, nothing, non-smoking, nice, meetings, lot, looking
