Abortion Kills
In 1973 a landmark decision was made in our society. The Supreme Court decision Roe versus Wade changed the way our society copes with unplanned and unwanted pregnancies. In the Roe v. Wade decision, the Court held that a woman\'s right to an induced abortion fell within the right to privacy and was protected by the Fourteenth Amendment. This fact outrages me; I believe that life begins at conception and cannot be taken without it being considered murder. The Supreme Court should overturn the Roe vs. Wade decision because it is essentially murder.
To understand exactly what the ramifications of the Roe versus Wade decision have been, one must look at the statistics involved. Between the Roe versus Wade decision in 1973 and through 1996, induced abortion was responsible for the deaths of over 40 million infants in America alone. Currently there are approximately 46 million abortions per year worldwide. This means that an average of 126,000 babies die each day due to abortion, 4,000 of which are in the United States. While these numbers are staggering they are unreal unless given something significant to compare them to. It is for this reason that the
