Should Condoms Be Passed Out In School Everyone agrees that we need to educate young people about how to avoid STDs and teenage pregnancy. But people disagree about who should do the teaching and what method to use. Some people believe it's the parents’ responsibility to talk to their kids about sex and its consequences. Others believe that schools and community groups have a role and a responsibility to educate young people about STDs and teenage pregnancy. A number of people think that the best way to deal with STDs is to encourage young people not to have sex until they are married or at least until they are adults. They argue that this is the best approach because; it’s the only 100% effective way to prevent the consequences of sex. “ You don’t get pregnant if you don’t have sex”. Giving out condoms will only make it harder for young people, especially girls, to say "no" to sex. Some believe it puts an inordinate amount of pressure on young people to be sexually active.
