The Chinese government has taken the enforcement of family planning and birthright laws to an extreme by violating the civil rights of its citizens, which has adversely affected the morale of its people. China implemented a one-child per family policy in 1979 in order to address the issue of unchecked population growth in a country with limited resources. While this policy was not enforced until 1979, population control actually began in the late fifties. This policy says all families are limited to one child unless that child is unable to work or dies.
