Overcoming The article “Eugene G. White broke barriers, made history,” is about an African American male, Eugene G. White, who “felt the sting of racism” growing up as a child in the 1950’s but, it did not stand in the way of his determination to succeed in life. Born and raised in Lee County, Alabama, White grew up in poverty and he was faced with the problems of segregation.
