Hamlet Weak Or Strong Is The Question The word “weak” is defined in the dictionary as, “something that can be easily broken, crushed, overcome, torn, or otherwise destroyed, ruined, or captured; not strong.” Using this definition, I would have to say by no means was Hamlet a weak character in the Shakespearean play. The figurative definition for the word “strong” is, “having or showing moral or mental force; a strong mind.” Another definition is, “not easily influenced or changed; firm.” Assuming these definitions can define a person’s character, I couldn’t’t say Hamlet was strong, either. At times, Hamlet showed he wasn’t weak and at other times proved not to be strong. Hamlet’s character appeared to have his emotions and actions buckled in the front seat of a rollercoaster on a track with totally unexpected twists and turns. The only thing that is certain is that Hamlet’s emotional side was repeatedly put to the test. When King Hamlet was killed by Claudius and he moved in the spot light, Hamlet and his mother’s relationship was changed forever. I think their relationship was broken. Hamlet felt first the pain and suffering of his father’s death. This type of loosing someone’s life is devastating and can eat hamlet, hamlet’s, strong, felt, claudius, father, ophelia, life, death, character, showed, mother, didn’t, weak, think, relationship, loved, feel, died, uncle, towards, polonius, make, something, put, play, own, himself, heart, emotions, being, about, while, way, told, times
