Titus Andronicus Titus Was the Name, Deception Was the Game. Titus Andronicus was definitely one of the bloodiest plays that I have ever read. If I had to use one word to describe the play Titus, deception would be the word I chose. I chose deception because all through the play it seemed every new scene there was some sort of devious action being carried out. The part of the play that sticks out in my mind as being the most deceitful is when Tamora sets out for revenge on Titus for killing Alarbus. Since Titus has taken her son’s life, Tamora’s other sons, Demetrius and Chiron, begin the bloodshed and the deception. They kill Bassianus in the woods, and then raped Lavinia, leaving her without a tongue or hands.
