The soil in the rain forest is very poor. The top layer of soil is usually only an inch deep. There are many producers and consumers in a rain forest. One producer is the vine. Sometimes vines wrap themselves around a huge tree trunk. It does this so it will have sunlight to grow. Another producer is an epiphyte also called an air plant because it sits on a branch of a tree or tree trunks. Another producer is a parasite. Parasites live off of other plants. They don’t make their own food directly from the sunlight. Some consumers are marmosets, orangutans, anteaters, and rain, forest, very, because, animals, soil, plants, water, tree, sometimes, producer, themselves, sunlight, small, rocks, poor, orangutans, one, much, marmosets, high, grow, different, consumers, anteaters, another, air, year, wrap, warm, vines, vine, trunks, trunk, trees
