Discovery Of Penicillin DISCOVERY OF THE “MIRACLE DRUG”, PENICILLIN During World War I, a young Scottish research scientist named Alexander Fleming worked at a special wound-research laboratory in Boulogne, France, under the leadership of Sir Almroth Wright.
