Concrete Structural Materials Field Trip: Central Reddy Mix On our field trip to Central Reddy Mix we basically learned how they batched their concrete and then how they distributed it. One interesting thing we learned is that they use 5 bags of fiber in each truck. This fiber acts like rebar. Also we were told that before the concrete trucks leave, the driver looks at the concrete and pretty much estimates the slump. The concrete is either ok to go, or more aggregate or water must be added.
