The person will experience breathing difficulties and frequent lung infections. Cystic Fibrosis patients are more likely to get asthma than other people. The disease is getting more and more frequent among the population. People without cystic fibrosis in the family, have a one in twenty-five chance of being carriers. If one parent is a carrier of the disease, but nobody in the family has the disease, you are twelve to sixteen times more likely to have a child with the disease. For every one hundred and fifty to two hundred children born, one child will be affected with Cystic Fibrosis.
