Aspirin Aspirin Aspirin, which is made by Bayer, is a pain reliever that temporarily relieves headaches, painful discomfort and fever of colds, and inflammation caused by various conditions. The active ingredient is acetylsalicylic acid, otherwise known as ASA or aspirin. Pills come in suppositories of 325 mg (regular strength), 500 mg (extra strength) or 650 mg (fast acting).
