Muhammad Muhammad the founder of Islam was born into a prosperous merchant family at Mecca in Arabia about A.D. 570. As a young man he entered the family business and served for a time as a camel driver and trader. Muhammad lost both of his parents while growing up. He also came from a tribe called Guroush. Muhammad became distress about the social injustice and corruption that he found in Mecca. After getting married to his first Muslim wife Khadijah, he had a daughter Fatima. It was said one night after dinner that his wife had made. He always went out for a walk in the city. He stared at a distance into the stars. While he was lying on top of a mount an angel named Gabriel had come forth onto him. Who told him that he was to be the next prophet to spread the word of God. From there came the Koran. The Koran is the next Bible. The Koran was the latest version of the Commandments. Koran is written in Arabic.
