Death Penalty Death Penalty Jesus says “For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions” (Mathew 6:14-15). Therefore, if you do not forgive the murderer for his sin then God will not forgive you. In Mathew 7:12, Jesus says, “In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the law of the Prophets.” Hence you should forgive others for their sins no matter how big it is, because that is how you would like people to treat you. Jesus furthermore proclaims, “You have heard that is was said an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth, But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also (Mathew 5:38-39). He is saying that 2 wrongs do not make a right. You do not need to do the same thing that a person did to you just to get even. Mathew 5:21 says, “You have heard that the ancients were told, ‘You death, penalty, people, forgive, shall, says, prison, person, penalty, life, right, mathew, just, costs, because, another, whoever, treat, should, sentence, others, murdered, murder, guilty, able, wrongs, white, very, transgressions, tooth, think, therefore, say, same, receive, punishment, out, million, make, likely, know, killing, killed, jesus, imprisonment, heard, harm, good, friend, father, eye
