Why Public Officials Should Read The Bible What book should our political leaders read' I would say the Bible. Our political leaders of today have a very secular and difficult job. I believe the Bible would help teach integrity great leadership, and I great source to go to for guidance during hardship. It gives numerous examples of doing what is right and fighting for what you believe in. That is exactly what our political leaders need to do. Many fall into scandals or get so wrapped up in their jobs they forget what is right. Right now American needs strong leaders that are grounded on good morals and respect for themselves and others. One story in the Bible is of David and Goliath. David was a young boy who stood up to a giant (Goliath). Goliath came to the land of Philistine and challenged them to a fight. David was the only one who stood up to him. He only had a sling shot a pebble. He did not fear the Giant and he hit him in the head with the pebble and killed him.
