Ethics Two famous Vatican II documents are the Gaudium et Spes and the Lumen Gentium. The Gaudium et Spes was written on December 7, 1765 and procalimed by Pope Paul, the sixth. It is the pastoral constitution on the church in the modern world. It is broken down into three sections: the situation of men in the world, the church and ma’s calling, and some problems of social urgency: and speaks of about the joys, hopes and grieves of mean, especially the poor who are affiliated with those qualities. Because united with Christ they are on their road to the kingdom of God. The second one is the Lumen Gentium (Light of Nations) which is The Dogmatic Constitution on the Church. It is in two sections that talk about the mystery of the church and the people of God. It was written on November 21,1964 and it was proclaimed by Pope Paul, the sixth. Both documents are very alike both also have some differences but they both show Jesus’ convental service in the modern world. In the Mystery of the Church, the first section of the Lumen, it speaks of how Christ is the light of humanity.
