It plays an important role in the plays and in the beliefs of people. To sacrifice something is to give up something and you never know the value of possessions until they're gone. Sacrifice, according to religious rituals means an act in which a consecrated offering is made to a god or other spiritual being in order to establish, perpetuate, or restore a sacred bond between humanity and the divine. These offerings may consist of humans or animals (blood offerings) or fruits, crops, flowers and wine (bloodless offerings). In all the miracle plays there is some sort of sacrifice, whether it be to God or within themselves. Throughout the plays sacrifice is explored. The examination of sacrifice in The Creation of Adam and Eve, The Fall of Man, Cain and Abel, Noah's Flood and Abraham and Isaac will be realized in the following passages.
