Religion In Modern Society In the Conquest of Chaos by Klaus Nurnberger, the author attempts to explain how a person in this new millennium can find meaning in the ancient writings of the Bible. Some of his explanations are difficult to understand and make it difficult for the average reader. Because of the terms used in the discussion, it would seem his intention was for theologians or philosophers to be the ones reading. Although there are some topics that are easily understood. Most of his statements focus on the story of Creation in the Bible. He begins saying the story, as it is written in the Old Testament, would be unacceptable to a scientific thinker today if it was taken as a factual explanation. The opinion today would be that a believer in the writings of the Bible could not be a logical thinker. Nurnberger seems to think that his situation grew out of the failure of theologians to explain the meaning of the stories to those people of their time. He feels it began during the Age of the Enlightenment.
