Developing Countries I believe that religion is used to characterize the developing world because it is an easily identifiable characteristic. Much along the lines of ethnicity, people can easily identify themselves with a religion. In the Islamic world there have been movements to incorporate Islamic law into the daily political decisions that are made(Ghadbian, pg 83, 2002). Religion impacts the different parts of the developing world differently. By this I mean that being Islamic is different than being Catholic. These two religions dictate how many people live their lives in different parts of the developing world.
