Surviving Loss Of My Horse Steal Surviving Loss of My Horse Steal When I was ten my dad presented me with a special gift, a six-month-old paint Tennessee walking horse. I named him Steal. And from that day on, Steal had been the light of my life. Steal had the perfect markings that a boy could dream of. When my friends saw him they laugh, they said his head was too big for his body and that he was ugly. I didn’t care because he was perfect in my eyes and my new best friend. Taking time for Steal was always important to me. My dad and me broke him when he was two. I rode him everywhere and even won trophies with him in parades. My friends could not believe how magnificent he was; they no longer told me he was ugly. We would gallop in the open fields; my hair flying in the breeze; he knew I loved to run. I check on him every night of the five years that I had with him.
