One of the most effects of child abuse occurs in the child’s behavioral status. Many children experience disturbing sleeping patterns that can haunt them for as long as they live; making them feel unsafe even in their own beds. Others may develop inappropriate sexual interests, excessive use of drugs and alcohol, and poor performance in school.
