The main trait of narcolepsy is excessive and overwhelming daytime sleepiness. The sleep attacks can last anywhere from 30 seconds to more than 30 minutes regardless of how much sleep you had the night before. A person with narcolepsy is likely to become drowsy or to just fall asleep, usually at the wrong place at the wrong time. The person may not even have a warning that this attack is about to happen. This may also occur more than once a day.
