Mistaken Judgements I make assumptions about others everyday of my life; Realizing that I cannot judge another based on these notions alone, is a constant reminder to remain open- minded. Sometimes I aim for a look that will attract a certain type of attention, target a specific crowd, or just one that expresses the way I am feeling inside. Accomplishing this is done with careful planning, wishful thinking or quite possibly by having too much time on my hands. Learning about how others perceive me and what it is that causes this opinion which is formed, gives me an understanding of the signals I am sending out to people. Image has always been a concern of mine, at times taken to the extreme and becoming too much of a focus in my life. The way I dress, places I go, people I choose as friends, how I talk, my body size, and even the facial expressions I make, are all leading factors in the judgments others have made about me. Styles of clothes I wear tend to send a great deal of mixed messages; the term “suggestive” might come to one’s mind.
