Philosophy On Education Personal Statement Today’s children need consistent support and guidance from well-cultivated thinking adults. What can be a more beneficial way to expand the thinking of young minds than to become a teacher' As educators we are given the opportunity to nurture these unique minds in an exceptional ways. The classroom environment has become more challenging, especially in under-performing schools. Increasing numbers of students are English language learners, have special education needs, or come from poverty, unstable families, or unsafe neighborhoods. Though teaching these students may present a greater challenge, the expectations of these students should still be high. Teachers still are accountable for the academic progress of all students. For teachers to be successful with high needs children they need to have wide cultural knowledge and community knowledge. These teachers also need a wider repertoire of teaching strategies for working in diverse and more complex schools and classrooms. Teachers must understand that there is no single way to view intelligence. Rather, there are several forms of intelligence. As educators, it is our job to recognize and appreciate the vast abilities and talents each student possesses. Teachers should have high expectations in different performance areas for their students, therefore, teachers must understand and children, should, teachers, students, need, must, learning, ideas, high, support, others, intelligence, instruction, expectations, educators, creative, classroom, adults, young, world, wide, ways, way, unusual, understand, time, thinking, teaching, strategies, schools, respectful, relationships, productively, practices, opportunities, needs
