The Morality Of Creation The Morality of Creation Since the beginning of time human beings has been blessed with a conscience. Moral are the building blocks of our conscience, a set of principles that help us decide what is right and wrong, what is good and what is bad. In FRANKENSTEIN, written by Mary Shelley. Shelley explores morality and the creation of mankind. Shelley attempts to open the view of morality by having the character Victor Frankenstein open a whole new meaning of being human. Through the attempt of creating a new species, Frankenstein comes up with a human like creator he calls the Monster. Frankenstein had thought he was doing a service by creating a species of humans. Frankenstein says, “A new species would bless me as its creator and source; many happy and excellent natures would owe their being to me.”(Shelley p58) Frankenstein soon figures out that his morals might get in the way of his own happiness. The creation of the Monster has given Frankenstein himself a second thought at whether of not it was morally right to create this monster.
