CHINESE PHILOSOPHY CHINESE PHILOSOPHY Do you know what kind of philosophies there are in China' Well, there are Confucianism, Daoism, and Buddhism. All three of them have a different point of view from the other, and some of them have some things in common. For example all three religions don’t have a god, and Buddhism has a lot more rituals and prayers then the other two. So they all have there different qualities and uniqueness. First of all, Confucianism is very different, and a unique religion. The man that came up with this religion is named Confucius. He was born in 550 BC. He based Confucianism on morality and virtue. Also, learning and getting a good education was very important to Confucius. He said at one point in time that to learn without thinking is a waste of time. However, thought without learning is dangerous. Confucius was a teacher. Being a teacher he taught mainly about the five virtues. Li is the most important virtue. Ren stands for kindness that you should treat others with. Xin stands for faithfulness. Yi stands for righteousness and honesty.
