Rationalist Views The traditional rationalist view takes a standpoint that human nature is one of reasoning and thought. I am in agreement with this traditional view. Reasoning or the ability to reason is what separates us from the rest of the animal kingdom. The only thing that the other members of the animal kingdom know, by nature, is instinct. This is what allows us (humans) to remain the dominant species. Compared to other views on human nature such as religious and existentialism, this view makes the most sense. Without thought or reasoning, the human race would be no further separated from the rest of the animal world than crab apples and granny smith apples. Survival would be very limited. We would probably die trying to acquire things that we needed. Our eagerness or desire would get the best of us. Devoid of rationale, a hungry person would walk right into a piranha infested lake to get to the prize that sits on the island in the middle, thus ending their fortune hunt. This is as the mouse in the trap, the only thing the mouse knew was that it was reasoning, view, human, nature, humans, thought, reason, rational, animal, traditional, species, rest, religious, person, kingdom, without, while, rationale, own, one, men, hussein, god, free, existentialism, choice, believe, world, women, way, views, trying, trap, thus, things
