Friedrich Nietzsche And The Relation Between Crime And Punishment
Friedrich Nietzsche was one of the most famous German philosopher, poet and classical philologist a provocative and influential thinker of the 19th century. He was raised by his mother, his father a Lutheran minister died when he was five. He studied classical philology at the University of Bonn and Leipzig. At age 24 he was appointed professor of classical philology. During his lifetime he was plagued by poor eyesight and migraine headache, which forced him to retirement in 1879. Later he suffered a mental breakdown from which he never recovered. He died in Weimar in 1900.
The German philosopher Arthur Schoepenhauer influenced Nietzsche with the theory of evolution. His friendship with German composer Richard Wagner, in addition to Greek culture had a great impact in his thinking.
His first major work was The birth of tragedy (1872). He also wrote in the 1880s Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Beyond God and Evil(1886), On the Genealogy of Morals (1887), The Antichrist(1888). His last major work The Will to Power was published in 1901.
Nietzsche believed that traditional values had lost their place in the life of individuals, he expressed this in the proclamation God is dead. He thought that traditional values represented
