Existence My Understanding of the Universe The universe is an extraordinarily profound place that is fully yet to be discovered. There are an insurmountable number of phenomenons that occur at every moment of existence. However, human society is among the most complex of these. Humans are, in general, selfish people that only do things for their betterment. Society is filled with individuals all trying to out do the other. Darwinism plays an important role not only in human society, but also in almost every aspect of the world. Most things in the world have self-protective methods in order to survive. For example roses have thorns, animals have instincts, and humans have both instincts and the ability to reason. Everything in life has a desire to survive; hence these things will do anything in their power to survive. Although objects such as plants do not have the ability to think, there is something in the universe that gives them the ability to protect themselves from other things in society.
