Cosmos Of Meaning The ability and desire to ask questions, and to seek out the truth is a defining characteristic of human beings. It sometimes seems that children have a vocabulary consisting only of the words why, how, who, where, and what. As we grow older the questions become more difficult to answer, up to the point when the questions we ask have no answer. The biggest of all these unanswerable questions is “What is the meaning of life'”. This question seems to be inevitably followed by “Is there a God/gods'”, “Who are we”, “Where did we come from'”, and “Where are we going'”. These all fit into the “Cosmos of Meaning”. We find the need to ask these questions because we all hope that there is meaning to our lives. If there is no meaning then what is the point of living, why not just jump off a bridge tomorrow' Looking closely at our own “Cosmos of Meaning” allows us to put meaning to these questions, and partially satisfy our hunger for the truth.
