Pink

Pink “Family Portrait” One song can bring many different feelings to every person who hears it. It can provide hope to those going through difficult times in their lives, or the beat can make you want to get up and dance. A song can also bring back memories of what you were doing the first time you heard it, and that memory stays with you every time you hear it again. Pink is a singer/songwriter who has gone through more in her childhood than most people have in their entire lives. She not only uses her music as an expression of her past childhood, but she also can provide some great party music. One of my favorite songs is called “Family Portrait.” This song deals with her parents’ decision to get a divorce, and how it impacted her life. She was only twelve when her father left, and she ended up becoming a rebel. She listened to rap, hip-hop, and rock while growing up, which gives her music a personality of its own. Every time I hear this song it brings back memories of my parents when they divorced.
