Annual Family Holiday For my concert report I attended the Annual Family Holiday Concert. I really enjoyed this concert; it was perfect for that holiday cheer! The pieces of music were from a wide range of time frames. Also some of the pieces of music were from composers that we discussed in class, for example the suite from the ballet “The Nutcracker” by Pytor lllych Tchaikovsky. All of the music had a holiday theme and the accompany of the orchestra which is a perfect combination for a holiday concert. The opening of the program started with the “Fanfare in C” by Henry Purcell (1659-1695). The Faculty Brass Quintet played this piece. It was a great start to what was going to be a wonderful concert. Then the Brass Quintet was joined by the men and women choirs with a percussion ensemble, to sing Awake, Arise and Hail the Morn. The men and women choirs took turns singing different verses and then the men and women also sang verses together. They had musical accompanists of the trumpet, horn, trombone and keyboard. The combined women’s chorus then sang Beneath a Star by piece, very, song, music, choir, concert, played, tempo, singing, orchestra, boys, steady, sang, out, next, men, xylophones, verses, sing, really, pieces, one, instruments, holiday, high, fun, favorite, dance, beautiful, women, violins, trombone, together, playing, melody
