Mozart

Mozart The Hunter College Symphony concert on November,20 performed a beautiful piece by Mozart, Symphony No. 40 in G minor, K.550, which is an instrumental piece of Classical period. This four movement piece was performed mostly by woodwinds and stringed instruments. The alterations between instruments made an interesting musical dialogue which was a common feature during the classical period. A symphony of a Classical period usually lasts between 20 and 45 minutes and Symphony No.40 lasted approximately for 25 minutes. The fourth movement really grabbed my attention probably because it was so close to the end and it started off fast and very tense. Here Mozart used a wide range of dynamics, probably to emphasize a dramatic mood.
