#57 Starlet #57 Starlet SKYY Vodka has used a number of different ads to sell their products. Their current advertising campaign is the Starlet Campaign. With eye-catching colors and special attention to details, the SKYY Vodka ad, #57 Starlet, found in the September issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine utilizes many different advertising methods to sell their beverage. But, behind it’s pretty picture lies a message that drinking can make you happy, beautiful, and in control. Caples says that type in an ad should seize the readers’ attention, and draw them in. The #57 Starlet ad does not have much type in it. The main type in the ad is the label on the bottle. According to Caples the ad is not effective in this area. I disagree; I think the ad does not need type. It would make the ad appear cluttered, and gives the reader too much to look at all at once. According to Caples there are specific pictures that get the attention of readers. Pictures of babies, brides, animals, and famous people are some examples of attention grabbing pictures.
