By sentencing murderers to death, pro-death penalty supporters feel that this will have a major influence on deterring future murderers from killing. Those who oppose capital punishment avidly believe that such a severe sanction will result in an increase of murders. Though there are many objections to capital punishment, sanctions for murderers should match their crime. The most depraved crime of all; murder should be punished by the most definitive means, death. Death certainly is final. Many lives are destroyed by it everyday. There are the innocent victims, and their convicted murderers.
