The Law Is All Around The Law surrounds us. The legal system affects every aspect of our society. Lawyers are the hubs of this system. They are advocates and advisors. As an advocate they represent clients by providing evidence and arguing to support their clients. They also act as advisors by counseling their clients on their legal rights and sometimes offering advice on what course of action to take. All in all they act as representatives for clients in matters pertaining to all aspects of the law. Above we talked a little bit about what lawyers do. The first step to become a lawyer is education. . As with many professions, there are formal education requirements for becoming a lawyer. These requirements include a four year college degree, three years in law school, and successful completion of a written bar examination. Competition for admission to most law schools is intense. The American Bar Association currently recognizes 185 law schools. Only upon completion of the bar exam will law school graduates begin to practice law.
