Moral Principles
A.
1. Absolutists like Kant believe that some moral principles cannot be overridden. Do you agree' If not, why not' If so, give an example of an absolute moral principle and explain why it should have no exceptions. What problems arise from a doctrine of absolute moral principles' Contrast Kants view of absolutes with Aristotles doctrine of the mean.
I do not agree with the absolutist, that there are moral principles that cannot be overridden. I am more prone to agree with the relativist, however I my self am not. Under certain circumstances you must adapt to, or violate, your moral code. There are many different examples:
· After many years of fighting with Iraqs regime the world is in complete turmoil. Iraq has unleashed biological weapons of mass destruction killing off two-thirds of the world. The lingering effects of the chemicals are killing more and more people everyday. The world must be repopulated by any means necessary.
In this example many people will turn against what is morally right, and wrong. Some cultures believe that by mixing their culture with someone not from their culture they are dishonoring their people.
