What is prostitution' It's the act or practice of selling one's body, (sex) for money or profit. Typically the act or acts prearranged between the prostitute and the customer are for cash. Sometimes, however, 'other' arrangements are made such as trade for drugs, transportation somewhere, or even food. This would all depend on the individual prostitute and her current social or living status. Prostitution is perhaps the most undisputed and oldest profession in the world. Like some professions or job skills that die out or make way for the industrial revolution, prostitution still exists today. It thrives mostly in highly populated areas. Why' Because that's where the customers are! Prostitution is Illegal in some countries, but legal in others. Why do some countries allow this and we don't' There are biblical, ethical, and moral implications that cloud the legislative decision making process.
The statement that 'we' don't allow it is not entirely correct. In the United States, "it" is legal in only one of the fifty states, Nevada. And then not everywhere in Nevada: Las Vegas, Reno, Carson City and Lake Tahoe still have it illegal. Supposedly the city fathers (and mothers) don't think that prostitution contributes to the family-oriented
