Joan Of Arc Joan of Arc Joan of Arc, Jeanne d'Arc, in French was born in 1412. She was a French peasant in the town Domrey. Joan was also a very religious person. She was very religious all of her life. When she was thirteen years old she believed she heard heavenly voices. In 1429 she claims that the "voices" told her to help the Dauphin, soon to be Charles VII of France. Joan did convince him that she was sent by god to save France. Some say the reason Charles VII was so convinced is because Saint Michael showed himself. On May 8, 1429, Joan of Arc won the battle at Orleans that had been besieged by the English. Before she started attacking the English forts, that surrender Orleans, Joan made sure that all of those who live in Orleans had food, so they did not starve. The people of Orleans were grateful. After she won that battle she truly believed that she might be the Maid that the great Wizard Merlin had talk about in his prophecy.
