The Renaissance The Renaissance was a time of artistic expression, new discoveries, new ways of thinking, and like its name says, it was a time of rebirth. Many important figures arose from that era. Among those were, Leonardo Da vinci and Galilei Galileo. Leonardo was what we now call, 'a Renaissance man'. He not only was a painter but, he was also an engineer, mathematician, inventor, architect, and writer. He was a scientist as well, with interests in biology, physics, and chemistry. He was even a musician who played the lute. He is usually remembered by his paintings. Of course his paintings were beautiful and were very lifelike. He studied anatomy in order to make his paintings better and believed that in order to produce great art, you have to study nature. His paintings always had emotion. In the painting 'the last super', you could see an example of this. Another important figure that helped revolutionized and change one's way of thinking at that time was, Galilei Galileo.
