The Physical And Psychological Trials Of Slavery The Physical and psychological trials of Slavery Seen Through the Eyes of Frederick Douglass Slavery was an overwhelming burden for many and for Frederick Douglass it was a part of his life. He reveals the horrifying graphic reality of the physical and psychological trials that he had to face day to day living the dreadful life of a slave. His life as an American slave has compelled him to educate others with the grim realism of the relationship between the slaves verses society and Slaveholders. In February the year of 1818 Frederick Augustus Washington Bailey was born into the dark world of slavery oblivious to the fact that his fate has already been placed in the hands of the white man. At this point in Frederick Douglass’s life he had the innocence of a child, but little did he know that he was being prepared for some of the hardest times to come. The despair of being a slave came almost immediately. The very day that Frederick was born the slaveholders took him from his mother and placed him in the care of his Grandmother. This is an act intending to desensitize to slaves. The Slaveholders wanted to break down the slaves, slavery, day, slave, frederick, douglass, being, physical, life, very, time, severe, psychological, masters, keep, free, first, york, white, slaveholders, punishment, master, man, less, just, human, burden, beaten, about, years, year, world, witnessed, way, wanted
