Got Milk In recent discoveries scientist have found a way to chemically increase milk production in cows. Despite the action of its opponents the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone (rBGH) for use in the United States. On November 5, 1993 the FDA approved Recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone (rBGH). Bovine growth (BGH) sometimes called Bovine Somatotropin (BST) is a natural protein made by cows. Recombinant BGH (rBGH) is genetically engineered synthetic version of the hormone. This growth hormone is injected every 14 days into dairy cows for a period of 200 days of a 335-day lactation cycle, to give cows a 15% to 25% increase in the production of milk. Although there have been no long-term test of the hormone’s health effects on humans some studies link BGH with increased risk of breast cancer, colon cancer, diabetes and hypertension. Research also shows that the cows injected with this hormone are more vulnerable to disease because their systems are over worked. So in order to compensate for this they increase doses of antibiotics. Now both residues from the disease and from the drug can then get into the milk. Research then showed that the treated cows are also more cows, milk, rbgh, hormone, growth, bovine, increase, recombinant, production, fda, disease, bgh, because, years, treated, span, scientist, research, protein, over, long, life, less, last, lactation, injected, increased, food, drug, diminish, days, cycle, cow, cancer, calves, approved, worlds, works, worked, wears, way, vulnerable, vol93, version, united, undetected, udder, truly, test, systems
