Anorexia/Bulimia After being told that my junior project would be a research paper on eating disorders, I quickly devised an approach to talk about this very serious topic. An eating disorder can occur in anyone. In order to help others understand what bulimia and anorexia mean, I have interviewed my cousin who was a victim of these two diseases. Afterwards I created videotape questioning my mother who also had suffered from anorexia and bulimia. My cousin Melissa was a popular bright young girl. Upon her arrival at school a crowd of admiring friends would greet her. She received all A’s on her report card, and was expected to do so. Behind this wonderful girl was a sad empty soul. At home Melissa was always ignored, and never congratulated for her accomplishments. My aunt and uncle were very proud of her older brother who was star quarter back of the high school football team. He could receive all C’s and one B, and they would throw him a party, but when Melissa came home with her perfect report card no one seemed to notice.
