Niccolo Machiavelli The Renaissance peroid wasa marked by a number of changes in military and political affairs of Western Europe.Niccolo Machiavelli born on May 3 1469 and spent his childhood in Florence of the Medici. In 1498 he joined a civil service under the republican regime of Piero Soderini. He also served as Secretary to the Ten of Liberty and Peace and was secretary to the Nine for Militia and Second Chancellor of the city. He was also credited with the singlehanded creation of the Florentine Militia. On June 22 1527 Niccolo Machiavelli died, he was known as the father of modern political science. Niccolo Machiavelli chose an approach to the ruling powers be by writing a number of books to bring him to their attention. His most famous book was The Prince, he also wrote The Discourses on the First Ten Books of Titus Livy, The Discourse on the War with Pisa, Report on the Fortifications of Florence. He also wrote The life of Castruccio Castracani, The Art of War, Dicourse on Reform of the Government of Florence, and the History of Florence.
