This statement was written in the Old Testament, which was revised once the New Testament became law. In the New Testament in the Books of Luke 6:29-35, it states of turning the other cheek when someone has committed a sin against you. The United States is one of the few countries left in the world to practice the savage and immoral punishment of death. Politicians and local states government officials argue that the consequences of death prevent people from committing the crime of murder. It is proven that the death penalty does not deter persons from committing murder, nor does it serve as an example of the consequence of capital crimes to society considering the fact that every state in the United States has different laws concerning the execution of person committing capital crimes.
