Threat Of Nuclear Weapons Threat of Nuclear Weapons Humankind has the power to destroy itself. Now that’s a scary thought. The nuclear age has changed the world, for the good and the bad. It is hard to argue whether the bad is greater than the good, but for now I am going to have to stick with the good. The threat of nuclear weapons deters the international powers from starting a full scale war, like that of WW2. It proved to be true, with the end of the Cold War, but the threat of nuclear war is still in the air, it may still in the end, destroy us all. We sometimes ponder to our selves, what would happen if we were forced into a nuclear war. The way life after such an incident would change as we know it drastically. Millions of lives at stake, the planet would be destroyed in the eyes of those few who will survive the torment to see it. No Government, or persons, can win a nuclear war and as long as there are nuclear missiles of mass destruction there will always be the risk of someone using them.
