Life In Brazil Brazils 2,500 miles East to West and 2,700 miles North to South makes it the largest tropical country in the world. Due to this tropical terrain the population of 150 million people are spread very unevenly throughout the country . The main cities of residents are Sao Paulo with 15 million residents and Rio de Janeiro with more than 9 million residents. Most of the rural population is located in the highlands of southern states or the ribbon of fertile land along the east coast. There is also a small but important population of subsistence farmers. They are a very important population due to there ability to provide the miners on the eastern highlands and those who gather forest products in the northern jungles. Another part of Brazil that stands out is the Amazon rain forest this area is very vegetated and filled with animals it draws many tourists and its warm climate makes the tourist very comfortable. In the early nineteen hundreds Brazil was was a federal republic with a constitution modeled after the american constitution. They followed the same ideas and beliefs americans did to some degree.
