Psycho Psycho The film Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock is a horror movie made in 1960. This movie portrays a deranged man named Norman Bates that owns a motel called “Bates Motel”; he eventually goes completely insane and turns to murder. The most famous scene in this film is the shower scene where Norman takes on his first murder of a woman named Marion in one of his motel rooms. In this movie there are very creative techniques used by Hitchcock such as the view of the camera, the variation of scenes, and the portrayal of the character’s situations as ‘normal’. In the very beginning of the movie Hitchcock uses the camera’s subjective eye by panning over the city. The camera moves across the city and focuses more in on the buildings. Then it hesitates, giving the audience a chance to decided which window they would like to look through. Then the camera starts to zoom in and makes the decision for them. This interesting camera view builds up to introducing the character of Marion. In the room Marion is with a man named Sam, Marion makes a proposal and he rejects it, during this time norman, marion, hitchcock, camera, movie, film, scene, shower, psycho, murder, motel, man, view, very, shows, scenes, one, named, makes, made, look, first, famous, audience, way, viewed, variety, turns, time, shot, sequence, pitzer, part, moves, marion’s
