The Fox Zorro has been captivating audiences for nearly a century. He has been played by many different actors, but his character has never changed. The legend of Zorro dates back to the year 1918. He was introduced in the novel The Curse of Capistrano, written by Johnston McCulley. The story became the first of 65 popular adventures in which the great Zorro fights prejudice in southern California. Zorro is portrayed as a romantic, Robin Hood-type that exhibits qualities of a classic hero. Zorro was created by McCulley to fulfill the public’s need for a fictional do-gooder who makes them feel a sense of comfort. The Mask of Zorro shows the new generation of Zorro, as a new character now becomes the amazing Zorro.
