We Were Soldiers “We Were Soldiers” Many good films have been made about the American/Vietnamese conflict from the movie Apocalypse Now’ too many serious documentaries about the harsh reality of the war. We Were Soldiers’ is not one of them. It is not one of them because it does not just show the killing and all of the more grotesque parts of war. This movie portrays friendship, love and the sacrifices that American soldiers make for their country. This Movie is a true story and many of the men involved in this battle are still alive today. What makes this move different from many other movies about the war in Vietnam is the input that the men who fought this battle had in the making of the movie. Also the wives of the soldiers had a lot of input into the scenes that involved them and their families.
